A Taiwanese supernatural thriller in which a disabled scientist’s team invents a device that captures the ghost of a 13-year-old boy. Investigator Ye Qidong (Chang Chen) is hired to follow the released boy; he uncovers a murderous family secret and a thin silken thread linking the boy to a darker, vengeful force that begins killing members of the team and stalking Ye and his girlfriend (Karena Lam).
